Maggie

Maggie was born on September 27, 1999.  She was the runt of the litter, and the last born.  As such, she was not "show quality" having a slight overbite and a narrow chest.  Because of that, she was not selected by anyone and at 12 weeks was still in the Kennel.  When she came home to us, she quickly became part of us.  In her all too shortened life, she was CGC, Therapy and National Disaster Therapy (the 12th one in the country) certified.  She was also certified for Live Tracking, Water Cadaver, Land Cadaver and Water Human Rescue.  Even the fact that she had Epilepsy did not prevent her from making over 100 Therapy visits, countless SAR Drills, and on June 27, 2007, she worked herself in 90+ degree temperatures trying to find Jessie Davis.  Ultimately, a stroke in December of 2009 was her undoing.  After battling bravely for nearly 6 months, it was finally time on May 20th 2010 at 7:30 AM for her to find a place where she would be free of pain.  She has passed, but will never be forgotten.  Best Paws Forward Dog Training and North Central Ohio K-9 Search and Rescue is dedicated to her and to her memory.
