All members of North Central Ohio K-9 Search and Rescue are trained in:

All members of North Central Ohio K-9 Search and Rescue undergo a rigorous training program which is broken into segments and takes 15 months to complete.   Upon completion of the course work, which includes both book and field work, the new members are placed on a 1 year probation period in which, with the use of weekly practices, they hone their skills to become valued assets to the team.  The initial training as well as the weekly practices are done year round to prepare members to be called into a mission any time of the year, in any weather.

 In addition, all dogs are of even and good temperament and are required to be certified by the American Kennel Club (AKC) as Canine Good Citizen dogs.  Many members are also certified as SAR TECH III by National Association for Search and Rescue (NASAR), one of the most recognized Search and Rescue organizations in the country. 

 

It is our goal and mission to do whatever is possible to aid in the search, rescue and recovery of potential distressed victims whenever called upon, 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
